President's Message
I am now a Journey fan. I start with this because I was so inspired by how this band was resurrected by a Filipino by the name of Arnel Pineda. They were searching for a lead vocalist for the longest time and through YouTube found him. The power of the internet at work! The leader of the band, Neil Schon, thinking out of the box, did his search on the internet. Lives were changed and now we have an 80’s band revived from the past having sold out concerts around America with a Filipino as lead vocalist. Their story embodies how a very rich country like the United States of America embraces globalization. A Filipino in the mainstream of the American Music Scene. Makes you proud of being Pinoy.
My ten month fellowship not only enhanced my skills as an Orthopedic Surgeon , brought me and my family closer but also gave me a new perspective on many aspects of our lives. I come home with new ideas and a new purpose.
Working in one of the top 50 hospitals in America - The Christ Hospital, gave me much insight on many ways we can improve our operations. I am beginning to share these insights with our Nursing Service, Business Office, Medical Staff and in many other areas.
I invite everyone to keep an open mind, move away from “old thinking”, accept change and accept globalization. Bring your level of competence
to the next level and in the process help yourself, improve your lives and help your country. Help me and let’s continue to grow.

Message from the COO
Looking Forward
To my dear Team Members, When Daniel O. Mercado Medical Center embarked on its goal to become a top health care organization in Calabarzon several years ago, it has never looked back. Weathering all types of challenges, it has focused on its objective and has thus maintained its leadership among hospitals in the Tanauan area, and has made its presence strongly felt in the surrounding community as well.
Other hospitals in our area have undertaken improvements and renovations, and we would like to think that these are in an attempt to play catch up with us. This is why we must constantly improve and always remain in the forefront of change to make sure that we are first in the hearts and minds of our patients and costumers.
And we have emphasized in the “Almusalos” we have been conducting for several months now, the hospital cannot do this without you; without each and every individual pulling together in the same direction. The role you play, whether big or small is important and contributes to the experience of our patients while in the hospital and ultimately to their loyalty. Loyalty is developed from a patient’s experience of excellent patient care to which all of us contribute one way or the other.
So as we welcome our newly renovated Emergency Room, Radio Room, and other renovations to come, and the newly
launched Pro-Health Center, let us remember that these improvements will be only as good as the people who work in it.
Mabuhay ang Daniel Mercado Medical Center at mabuhay tayong lahat!
