Ms. Nightingale 2008
A Showcase of Beauty and Talent

 In observance of the Nurses’ Week last October 20 - 24, 2008, the DMMC Nursing Division conducted several activities that demonstrated their allegiance to the tenets of nursing care. The highlight of the week-long celebration was the “ Miss Nightingale 2008 ”--- an annual pageant featuring the beauty and talents of the hospital’s nurses. The highly-anticipated event was held at the DMMC concessionaire area on the evening of October 24th, 2008.
With the theme “ Achieving Global Excellence In Nursing Care”, the Nursing Division mobilized its entire staff and coordinated with the different departments to ensure the pageant’s success. The six contestants delighted the audience with their stunning beauty and display of talents in singing, dancing, and acting.
Miss Merryl Magsino won the nod of the judges and was crowned Miss Nightingale 2008. The runners-up were Ms. Vanessa Garcia ( 1st runner-up) , Ms. Kristine Love Castillo ( 2nd runner-up), Ms. Marigold Rocero ( 3rd runner-up).
Ms. Magsino was adjudged the Best in Long Gown and Ms. Photogenic as well. The Miss Talent Prize was awarded to Ms. Garcia.
As part of the night’s celebration, the
Nursing Division handed several awards to its outstanding personnel in recognition of their hard work and dedication. Ms. Dannah Angela Dorfina was honored as the Best Nurse, Mr.Ralph Ricablance as the Best Novice, and Ms. Norma Wagan as the Best Nurse Assistant.
The Miss Nightingale 2008 was a resounding success. Even before the night had ended, everybody was already looking forward to next year’s pageant.
